Quake Hits Central Iran

A02293604.jpgThe seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 11:15 hours local time (07:45 GMT).

Deputy head of the Red Crescent Society of Kerman Province Ahmad Soltani told FNA that the relief and rescue squad are presently in the area.

There are yet no reports on the likely number of casualties or damage to properties.

Hectic fault lines have made Iran a host to frequent earthquakes of varying degrees in magnitude.
