Pakistan Stresses Peaceful Solution of Iran’s N. Case

A025210410.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Pakistani Foreign Minister Mian Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri stressed Iran’s right to access and use peaceful nuclear technology, and further reiterated that Tehran’s nuclear issue should be resolved through peaceful means.Speaking to reporters following his meeting with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary Ali Larijani here on Thursday, Kasuri pointed to his country’s stance in the face of Iran’s nuclear case, and said, “As a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iran is entitled to access to nuclear energy and Pakistan believes that Tehran’s nuclear issue should be resolved through peaceful means.”

Elsewhere, he described his talks with Larijani as useful, and said that during the meeting, he has stressed the necessity for the adoption of a pricing mechanism for Iran’s natural gas supplies to his country.

Noting the varying views of Iran, India and Pakistan about the pricing formula, the top diplomat reminded that all the three sides have agreed to assign a consulting company to determine the price for the natural gas supplies.

He also referred to his talks with the Iranian president, and said that during the meeting, Mr. Ahmadinejad has stressed that he would, in person, follow up on the upcoming meeting of experts in Tehran.

The said meeting is due to deal with the issue of the natural gas pricing formula.

Kasuri expressed the hope that the experts meeting would settle the differences of the three states over the issue.
