Speaking to reporters during a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki here on Wednesday, Jaffar appreciated the Iranian nation and officials for participating in the developmental projects of his country.

He said his visit to Tehran is aimed at the deepening and bolstering of cooperation, defining new projects and joint ventures and pursuit of previous agreements and projects underway.

He pointed to the two countries’ shared ideals in connection with the Islamic civilization, and said, “We welcome the Islamic Republic’s aspirations for having a wider presence and enhanced activity in different world regions to assist countries with development, and we are ready to increase our cooperation with Iran in this ground.”

Referring to the two countries’ different projects in areas of agriculture, health, fishery and road construction, Jaffar said during his talks with Mottaki that the two sides have discussed promotion and boosting of cooperation in the said grounds.

He also noted establishment of a clinic by Iran’s Red Crescent Society in one of his country’s towns and opening of an office by Iran’s Agricultural Jihad Ministry and another office by Imam Khomeini Relief and Aid Committee in the Comoros’ capital, and said, “These exchanges are increasing.”

The minister also mentioned that he and Mottaki have also agreed on the construction of oil reserve tanks in his country for the re-export of Iran’s oil to other countries.
