Iran’s FM Leaves for New York

A02942824.jpgIran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has left the country to attend the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly to be held in New York. Mottaki will attend the meeting on Saturday to discuss the latest developments in Iraq. The Foreign Minister is also scheduled to deliver a speech on Iran’s stance towards the situation in Iraq.

Representatives from the permanent members of the UN Security Council as well as Iraq’s neighboring states are among the other participants in the meeting, which will be chaired by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbass Araqchi and the country’s UN envoy Mohammad Khazaee will also take part in the session.
