Speaking in a meeting with the head of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council and Iraq’s chief federal prosecutor general here on Saturday, Rayeesi reminded the Iraqi government of its responsibility for punishing such criminal groups as the MKO and former Ba’th party, specially with regard to the existing documents substantiating crimes of the said two groups against the Iranian and Iraqi nations.

He further pointed to Iran’s lawsuit against the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hossein, and the Ba’th party, and stressed, “As a main supporter of Saddam during the 8-year (Iraqi imposed) war against Iran and as a government in charge of the massacre of many people in Iraq, the United States cannot claim to be an advocate of peace in Iraq and the Middle-East.”
