Turkish warplanes strike 70 PKK targets in Iraq: army

ANKARA – Turkish warplanes struck some 70 Kurdish guerrilla targets in northern Iraq on Monday in the latest in a series of strikes, the General Staff said.

The Turkish military said in a statement that the raid on Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) targets began around 3:00 a.m. (0100 GMT) and that its planes returned safely to base after completing their mission successfully.
