All Bulgarians abroad have to observe foreign legislation strictly: Foreign Ministry Spokesman

Sofia. Petar Zikulov was arrested by Romanian authorities three days ago on a charge of espionage in favor of a third country, but Romanian authorities have not yet announced officially the name of the third country, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Dragovest Goranov said in an interview with Nova Television.

He added that Zikulov was still probed into in cooperation with Bulgarian special services. The Bulgarian is in the preliminary detention room. He noted he did not know how important the NATO-related information was.

Only Romanian authorities can say, he specified.

I believe in Romanian court and investigation, he added.

“Throughout the investigation and trial Bulgarian state will provide Zikulov with any consular protection,” the spokesman said.
He addressed Bulgarian citizens abroad, saying they had to observe the foreign legislation strictly.
