Bulgarian Interior Minister Blames Economic Crisis for Crime Rise

According to Bulgaria’s minister of interior affairs Mihail Mikov the economic crisis had created a criminal situation in the country Thursday.

Mikov made his statement in his first comment following a brutal murder that shocked Sofia last night. A 73 year old man was robbed, murdered and his home was set on fire on the night before March 11th.

This comes after a string of brutal crime incidents that shocked the country in the last week.

The now smaller revenues in the state budget get in the way of common security, minister Mikov explained. He also pointed out once again that the 50% increase of wages, that policemen have been calling for, is impossible.
