Tadić, Josipović could meet soon

Serbian and Croatian Presidents Boris Tadić and Ivo Josipović could meet on January 18, the inauguration day of the new Croatian leader.

Josipović announced that we will be meeting with his Serbian counterpart soon.

Josipović said earlier this week that relations between Croatia and Serbia are a strategic priority for him, adding that the Croatian genocide lawsuit against Serbia could be withdrawn if an agreement was reached.

He said that Croatian citizens have unrealistic expectation for the suit, and that “when there are big expectations, there are also big disappointments”.

“I do not want to be the president that will create illusions and say what the people want to hear,” Josipović said.
