Moldovan Prime Minister Filat is optimistic after his visit in Kyiv

Moldovan Prime Minister Filat is optimistic after his visit in Kyiv, where he met his Ukrainian opposite number Iulia Timoshenko.

„The meeting with Iulia Timoshenko was highly productive and I’m sure it will boost our bilateral relationships” Filat stated.

He mentioned that they discussed mainly about Moldova’s and Ukraine’s economic engagements.

One the main debated issues was Kyiv’s decision to impose some circulation restrictions for Moldovans. “The decision was suspended in autumn, and I’ve been assured it was totally cancelled”.

Besides, Filat signed a protocol regarding the mutual recognition of rights and the regulation of property acts signed on 11 August 1994.

“The protocol must be ratified by the Parliament and, thus, we’ll brush up the issues regarding the administration of our possession in Ukraine” Filat concluded.
