Kosovo wants to be equally represented at EU-Balkans summit

Kosovo will attend the EU-Balkans summit in June only if the participants are equally represented, Spokesperson for Kosovo’s President Xhavit Beqiri said.

If there are state symbols or flags, then Kosovo should enjoy the same privileges. If participants are identified by their names, that’s acceptable for Kosovo as well. The only condition is all participants to be represented equally, Beqiri said at a press conference in Pristina.

Serbia and Kosovo reacted positively to proposals on the new Sarajevo summit by Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, who visited Serbia and Kosovo. According to media, Frattini proposed that the summit be organised as an informal reunion where participants are only identified by their names and the states they represent.
