Decision on Serbia’s EU candidate status to be taken on March 1-2

After EU ministers’ recommendation to grant Serbia the candidate status, the final decision will be made by EU heads of state and prime ministers on March 1-2,

After a several-hour long meeting, the EU member states managed to avoid blocking of the decision by Romania.

The other EU member states, especially Germany, insisted on making a recommendation to grant Serbia the EU candidate status and the final decision will be made at the EU heads of state and prime ministers’ summit that will be held on Thursday and Friday in Brussels.
