Turkey’s president says aid to Africa will increase, as the continent should not be left to suffer alone.
Abdullah Gul – speaking at a joint press conference with Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh on Tuesday – said it is morally wrong to let Africans suffer, so Turkey will increase its humanitarian and technical assistance.
Gul said that stability in Gambia – “the continent’s export gate” – has led to important bilateral relations between the two countries.
Jammeh is to meet Turkish business leaders in Istanbul on Wednesday to market his country’s business potential while free trade agreements between the two countries are in the process of being implemented.
