“Inghamisia” by “Tahrir al-Sham” at a regime site in the countryside of Latakia

Fighters in Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, which has military control in Idlib, carried out an “immersion” operation today, Wednesday, March 20, targeting a Syrian regime forces position in the Latakia countryside.

Fighters of the “Othman bin Affan” Brigade, affiliated with “Tahrir al-Sham,” targeted regime forces’ points in the Al-Kabina axis in the northern countryside of Latakia, according to what was published by leaders of the “Tahrir al-Sham” and military correspondents .

The Amjad Media Foundation, affiliated with the Authority, said that the operation resulted in the killing of ten regime soldiers, the destruction of their armor, and the destruction of a 14.5-caliber machine gun with an anti-tank missile.

The regime’s official media did not announce any deaths or injuries among its forces, as it rarely announces this, while news accounts loyal to it publish information about deaths, in addition to obituary publications for members of its forces in the area of clashes or targeting.

“Al-Inghamisiyah” comes a day after clashes and mutual shelling between “Tahrir al-Sham” fighters and regime forces on the Maarat al-Naasan axis, east of Idlib, and Kafr Nuran in the western countryside of Aleppo, which local testimonies described as the most violent in months.

On March 18, Tahrir al-Sham announced its capture of a T-72 tank from regime forces on the Qubatan front in the western countryside of Aleppo.

The military commander of Tahrir al-Sham, Abu al-Zubair al-Shami , said via a video recording that the seizure of the tank was part of a series of operations by the military wing, which have increased to ten operations distributed on all fronts since the beginning of this year.

He stated that units of the “Inghmasi of the Red Band” and the “Armour Brigade” in “Tahrir al-Sham” carried out a “snap” operation and snatched the tank from the ranks of the “30th Division” of the regime forces, and the fighters returned safely without injuries.

On the other hand, the regions of northwestern Syria are witnessing targeting by regime forces, interspersed with Russian raids, despite the region being subject to the “Moscow” agreement signed between Russia and Turkey, which stopped military operations, including battles and the opening of fronts, since its signing on March 5, 2020.

The most recent of these attacks was on March 19, when regime forces targeted with missiles the school of the village of Katyan in the eastern countryside of Idlib. The targeting caused significant material damage to the school building, without any casualties among the students, as the targeting occurred before the start of work.
