SEA: There are no new benchmarks for Macedonia from EU

It is false to believe that European Union set additional benchmarks for Macedonia, Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA) informed.

SEA denied any accusations made by former Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Ivica Bocevski, who said that Macedonia received new benchmarks, set by the European Commission, towards the end of 2009.

During the preparations of EU delegation regular meetings in Skopje a lot of documents and papers are being prepared for a review and there might have been an attempt some kind of informal document to be presented as new benchmark. It is false to believe that European Union gave new benchmarks for Macedonia, SEA said in a statement.

SEA urged for a greater responsibility when it comes to treating subjects on Macedonia’s EU integration.
