Albanian FM urges Kosovo-Serbia dialogue

Albania’s ministry of foreign affairs has called for renewed dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade after a Kosovo policeman died in clashes with ethnic Serbs in northern Kosovo on Tuesday.

“It’s essential that solutions come from dialogue and agreements and the implementation of the strategy for [northern] Kosovo drafted by the Kosovo government and the International Civilian Office,” the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Albania backs the independence of Kosovo and the extension of its sovereignty in all its territory,” the statement added.
