Bulgarian FM underlines the importance of relations with Romania

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin and his Romanian counterpart Titus Corlatean exchanged views on regional issues and outlined possible areas of co-operation in a meeting Thursday in Romania’s capital Bucharest.

The two ministers discussed immediate steps to better co-ordinate and strengthen the overall co-operation between Bulgaria and Romania on the grounds of their common views for the Balkan countries’ future development.

“Bulgaria and Romania, as neighbouring countries and, at the same time, members of the EU and NATO, share common values ​​and have common interests. This is an excellent prerequisite for deepening, on a pragmatic basis, relations both bilaterally and in the regional and the European context,” said Vigenin, according to a release by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
