Kiriyenko is scheduled to pay an official visit to Tehran on 11 December to attend talks with the Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Gholam Reza Aghazadeh to review the two sides’ nuclear cooperation, an informed source told FNA.

The source who asked to remain anonymous further stated that Kiriyenko is also due to discuss economic cooperation with Iranian officials during his two-day visit.

Asked about the International Atomic Energy Agency’s demand for taking samples from Iran’s technical universities and faculties, the source mentioned that the two sides have not yet specified any relevant date for retaking environmental samples from the academic centers.

Earlier Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini said during his last week press briefing here on Sunday that “Iran has agreed with the agency’s request in line with Safeguards Agreement of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).”

Hosseini further assured that the Islamic Republic of Iran would continue its cooperation with the IAEA as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
