Iran Condemns US Air Strike on Somalia

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini here on Wednesday condemned US air raid on villages and refugees in southern Somalia.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau, Hosseini also reminded that the US air strike on Somalia is a violation of the international rules and regulations.

He further noted the consequences and aftermaths of the United States’ military and tension-prone approaches and strategies, and called on foreign parties to cease intervention in Somalia’s domestic developments and encourage various belligerent parties in Somalia to join national talks and comprehensive participation to do away with that country’s domestic crisis.

The diplomat further expressed the hope that after a period of domestic problems, the trend of developments would return to a proper path which could serve the interests and ideals of the people of Somalia.

To end his remarks, he voiced Iran’s preparedness to help to the settlement of the crisis and soothe the pains and agonies of the people of Somalia.
