Iran Non-Oil Exports at $4.4b

A01750159.jpgIran’s non-oil exports reached $4 bln and 400 mln in the first four months of the Iranian year from March 2007, announced deputy commerce minister. Mehdi Ghazanfari, who also heads Iran’s Trade Development Organization, stated that the figure showed an increase of one mln dollars compared to $4.3 bln worth of non-oil goods exported from March 21 to July 22, 2006, PressTV reported.

Iranian goods were exported to 138 countries while the Islamic Republic imported commodities from 113 states.

Average price of Iran-made goods stood at $450 per ton in international markets. Agricultural products exports averaged $1,400 per ton while Iranian-made foodstuff recorded $666 per ton.

Figures released by Iran’s Customs Administration early in August showed that non-oil exports increased by 2.75 percent in value during March 21-July 22, 2007 compared to the figures for the same period last year.

Iran exported over 9,900 tons of non-oil goods during the same four months.
