Russian Energy Ministry doesn’t expect new gas dispute between Russia, Ukraine

Russia’s Energy Ministry believes there is no reason to suspect another corporate conflict in the supply of Russian gas to Ukraine, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko said.

“We have no reason to assume that there will be scandals involving the supply of Russian gas to Ukraine. We have long-term contracts which will be fulfilled at the corporate level,” he said.

In January, a gas row erupted between Russia’s Gazprom and Ukraine’s Naftogaz over payments that resulted in supplies affecting countries across Europe.
