Still no agreement reached on candidate for president in Albania

Albanian PM Sali Berisha discussed on Sunday with opposition leader Edi Rama about agreeing on a candidate for president, but failed to reach any positive results.

The opposition rejected Zaganjori’s candidature and asked for talks between the parties to select a candidate accepted by all sides.

“We are ready to continue our efforts because we want to contribute in this issue. We cannot name a candidate without an agreement with the majority that the selection will be consensual,” said Socialist leader Edi Rama after the meeting.
