Turkey, Azerbaijan discuss military cooperation

On Dec. 18 the Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov received the head of the General Plan and Principles Department of the Turkish Armed Forces, General Staff, Lieutenant General Alpaslan Erdogan.

Alpaslan Erdogan expressed his satisfaction with the meeting within the Azerbaijan-Turkey High-Level Military Dialogue, held in Baku in line with the plan of bilateral cooperation.

He said military cooperation is being built on friendly and fraternal relations.

Hasanov informed Erdogan about the importance of bilateral cooperation in the current military-political situation in the region.

He also stressed the importance of solving the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

After the meeting, the sides exchanged ideas on prospects of development of ties between Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s armed forces.
