An official who asked to remain anonymous said that the explosions pertained to the operations for defusing landmines in a field nearby Khorramshahr.

Witnesses said that the blasts have been the strongest ever since the end of the Iraqi war imposed on Iran (1980 to 1988).

Most of the citizens poured into the streets in fear.
