FM Spokesman Dismisses Statements of British Officials

A0223776.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Fabrication of realities may not help the British statesmen solve their problems, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini said in response to the recent remarks by British officials about the threatening nature of Iran’s nuclear programs.

“The real threat is posed to the world community by those politicians who do not want to accept the undeniable realities of the aftermaths of their unilateral and selfish policies in Iraq and Afghanistan and are pushing the world towards instability and tension through such approaches,” Hosseini continued according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau here on Tuesday.

Forging a threatening nature for other countries cannot make the vigilant world public opinion accept expansionist thoughts of neocolonialists, he added.

The diplomat further spoke of Iran’s permanently clear and transparent nuclear strategies, and said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always underlined that it does not view nuclear weapons as a privilege or extra power for any world country.”

“Iran has always stated that nuclear weapons cause a waste of the material resources of the nations,” he continued.

The spokesman called on the British officials to stop redesigning and producing new military nuclear systems and to practice the Iranian president’s proposal at the 61st meeting of the United Nations General Assembly for global disarmament.

He reminded that Iran has always stressed its commitment to the IAEA and NPT rules and regulations and that the abundant reports presented by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the expert views contained in such reports are the best proof substantiating Iran’s constructive cooperation with the IAEA.
