Iran, Sudan Sign MoU on Defense Cooperation

A02328902.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Following their second round of talks here on Wednesday, Iranian and Sudanese defense ministers endorsed a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation.

The agreement noted the resolve of the leaders of both countries to consolidate ties in all areas, strive to safeguard peace and tranquility in the region and grow a common understanding of the surrounding developments.

It also stressed the expansion and development of defense ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Sudan.

Exchange of expert delegations, transfer of experiences in the field of defense and cooperation in technical and educational issues are among the other topics included in the MoU.

During the 4-day visit which takes place at the invitation of the Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, the Sudanese four-star General attended meetings with senior Iranian political and defense officials, including the speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Gholam Ali Haddad Adel and commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Seyed Yahya Rahim Safavi, in addition to his two rounds of talks with his Iranian counterpart.
