According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau, Hosseini noted the goals pursued by the enemies in shedding Muslims’ blood, and said, “Enemies, assisted with those affiliated to world arrogance and Zionism and those seeking ill intentions, shed the blood of Muslims and violated the sanctity of Mosques and Islamic rituals in a bid to sow discord among Muslims.”

He further described vigilance, self restraint, solidarity and safeguarding of Muslims’ rights as the best way to confront such belligerent and satanic approaches.

The spokesman further stressed the need for the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to show reaction to such measures, and stated, “OIC’s reaction to such regrettable, bitter and anti-Islamic incidents can play an effective role in preventing repetition of such events and in demonstrating the role played by the Islamic states in strengthening unity and upholding the dignity and lives of Muslims.”
