Ahmadinejad Arrives in Armenia

A02739115.jpg Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Armenia a few minutes ago in order to inaugurate the Iran-Armenia natural gas transfer pipeline project. According to FNA correspondent, the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Armenia today, Monday and was officially received by the Armenian president, Robert Kocharian. The visit is intended to inaugurate the natural gas pipeline project that transfers Iran’s natural gas to Armenia.

The inauguration ceremonies shall officially start in the presence of the Iranian and Armenian presidents in a few minutes time.

The Iranian natural gas pipeline to Armenia is 40 kilometers long beginning from the Iranian border point.

This project which will become operational within the next few months has cost USD33 million and Iran and Armenia have jointly invested in it.

The project has been implemented entirely by the Iranian specialists and contractors.
