UAE PM Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum arrives in India

United Arab Emirates (UAE) Prime Minister and Vice President Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum today arrived here to sign several bilateral economic and cultural pacts with India. During his two-day visit to New Delhi, Shaikh Maktoum would be discussing issues relating to exchange of prisoners between the two countries, an agreement on combating international terrorism, money laundering and other crimes.

He is accompanied by a delegation consisting of seven ministers and senior corporate leaders. A visa avoidance agreement on Government officials and diplomats holding passports of either of the two countries will be signed. Both the countries are keen to strengthen institutional links between their law enforcement agencies. Shaikh Mohammed last visited New Delhi and Mumbai in 1974, as the Defence Minister of the UAE, accompanying his father, the late Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
