Presence in Egypt Meeting Defused US Plots against Iran

Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi said that Tehran’s active participation in Iraq security conference in the Egyptian Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh played a significant role in defusing the US administration’s hostile measures against Iran. Addressing a meeting of judiciary executives here in Tehran on Sunday, Shahroudi viewed as precious Iran’s presence at the Egypt meeting to defend the rights of the Iraqi people and nation, and said that the Islamic Republic’s active participation in the meeting played a significant role in defusing the hostile measures adopted by the US administration and some other western countries against Iran.

He further underlined that Iran has always defended restoration of security and calm in Iraq, adding that the Islamic Republic will continue the same course in future.

“Fortunately, the trend of regional issues is moving in such a way that it has brought the US to a dead-end not only in Iraq, but also in the entire world,” the head of judiciary said.

He said Iran’s reputation is on the increase in the international arena, adding that participation in the Sharm el-Sheikh conference elevated Iran’s glory and grandeur while it was a great help to the settlement of Iraq’s problems.

“Iran’s resistance in defending the rights of the oppressed, specially the rights of the Palestinian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Afghan people has gifted Iran honor, glory and grandeur on the international scene,” Shahroudi said.
