Text of speech by Mr. Jean-Pierre Béquet,  ,  Mayor of Auvers-sur-Oise in a speech in gathering of 50,000 Iranians in support of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran:

I am so happy to see so many of you enthusiastically gathered here today in defense of your values and to support Maryam Rajavi. On behalf of the people of Auvers-sur-Oise, as well as those from the neihboring towns, I would like to express our support both for your struggle, especially after the scandalous June 17, 2003 raids in our city, and also for your resolve to create a free and democratic Iran.

You need a free and democratic Iran. The world needs it, too: Europe, France, and global peace need it. The European people must rally for the implementation of the European Court’s verdict. Of course, it is the right thing to do. But first and foremost, [PMOI’s] removal from the list of terrorist organizations is a matter of justice and equality for you.

It is essential to close the judicial cases of June 17th and others [against the Resistance]. You have to be recognized for what you are: the Iranian Resistance and the future of the Iranian people. This is exemplified by you today, who have gathered here in such large numbers. This is why we are here with you; the  jurists, the elected officials, the parliamentarians, the progressive movements, the democratic and free forces of Europe and the world. We stand by you [in your struggle] to bring change and peace to Iran.

Bravo for your struggle! And be assured that we will always remain by your side.
