Quake Hits Northeastern Iran

A01177497.jpgAn earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Haji Abad in the northeastern Iranian province of Southern Khorassan on Thursday.The seismological base of Birjand affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 01:28:11 hours local time (21:58:11 GMT).

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
