Sweden Supports Iran’s N. Rights

A00150947.jpgSweden’s deputy foreign minister voiced support for Iran’s right to access peaceful nuclear technology, and further welcomed Tehran’s increased cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau, the issue was raised during a meeting between the Swedish official and his visiting Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

During the meeting, Araghchi briefed the other side about the latest conditions of Iran-IAEA cooperation, and underlined that his country’s nuclear issue should be resolved within the UN nuclear watchdog, adding that the IAEA is the only qualified international authority to study Iran’s nuclear dossier.

For his part, the Swedish official voiced his country’s strong support for Iran’s right of access to civilian nuclear technology, and expressed the hope that Tehran’s nuclear issue would be resolved through cooperation with the IAEA.
