Quake Hits Southern Iran

A009056877.jpgAn earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale jolted some areas in the vicinity of the port city of Bandar Abbas in Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan on Wednesday. The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 07:22:36 hours local time (03:52:36 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 56.16 degrees in longitude and 27.23 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
