US Sanctions against Iran Detrimental to Region

Afghanistan’s ambassador to Tehran said that the US sanctions against Iran are harmful to the region, and stressed that the two sides’ differences should be resolved through negotiations. Mohammad Yahya Maroufi made the remarks during a visit, along with 20 other ambassadors from different world countries, to the northern city of Qazvin on Monday.

He viewed Iran as a country playing a positive role in the region, and expressed hope that West’s differences with Tehran would be resolved through talks.
