Quake Hits Southwestern Iran

A011290225.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted the suburbs of Do-Gonbadan and Gachsaran in Iran’s southwestern province of Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad on Monday.According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake was registered at 11:54 hours local time (08:24 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 50.85 degrees in longitude and 30.39 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
