During the meeting, al-Maktoum also praised Iran’s scientific progress, and viewed the two countries’ complementary possibilities as a good back-up for the further expansion of bilateral ties.

“We have always had an eye on strong and consolidated ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he stated.

The UAE premier further voiced pleasure in his visit to Iran, and said that the two states’ relations could set a paradigm for other countries.

For his part, Iranian First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi viewed the two countries’ cultural commonalities as a strong base for their increasingly developing relations which, he said, benefited the two nations and the region.

“Iran and Emirate have a long-term view towards bilateral and regional relations and are capable of promoting their relations several fold,” he said.

Davoudi praised the UAE’s stance on Iran’s civilian nuclear activities, and reminded that Tehran’s offer to foreign states and companies to participate in nuclear power plant construction projects in the Islamic Republic proved Iran’s good will in pursuing nuclear activities.
