Iran’s ambassador Mohammad Hosseini and Al-Attiyah discussed Tehran’s relations with the PGCC, concentrating more on a proposal for a free trade pact between Iran and the Arab block, Qatari news agency reported on Sunday.

In a letter to the PGCC secretary general in mid-April, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki proposed the establishment of an Iran-PGCC common market.

Mottaki also called for a meeting between the Islamic Republic and its southern neighbors to discuss further expansion of economic relations.

Hosseini and Al-Attiyah also held talks over other issues of mutual concern, Tehran Times reported.
