FACTBOX-Military deaths in Afghanistan

(Reuters) – A British soldier was shot dead while on foot patrol in the southern Nad Ali district of Helmand province on Monday, the British Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Here are figures for foreign military deaths as a result of violence or accidents in Afghanistan since the Taliban government was toppled in 2001:
