Swiss fear fall-out of Libyan row

The people of Switzerland face possible fuel shortages as a result of the ongoing diplomatic row with Libya. The arguments erupted this summer when a son of Libyan leader Muammar Gadaffi was arrested in Geneva, and charged with mistreating two domestic employees. Hannibal Gadaffi was released on bail. Libya threatened to retaliate for poor treatment of its diplomats and businessmen.

Now it has cut off deliveries of crude oil to Tamoil refineries in Switzerland, and is withdrawing five billion euros worth of assets from the country, even though the case against Hannibal Gadaffi was dropped last month.
