The deal was signed by IDB Managing Director Ahmad Muhammad Ali and head of the organization Heidar Moslehi.

The agreement, which contains three paragraphs, calls for cooperation on endowment projects in Islamic countries.

According to the Islamic republic news agency, it has also emphasized transfer of Iran’s experience to other Muslim countries to promote culture of endowment.

Upon signing the deal, the IDB official said that endowment gains significant aspects when the global economic crisis starts to prevail.

Therefore, it should be revived in the society, he noted, adding that this is of special significance for the world, not for poor Muslim countries, which are home to 50 percent of the poor in the world, alone.

Moslehi also said that a movement to revive culture of endowment is in the offing under the leadership of Iran.

He hoped that endowment will attain its due status in the world.
