Romanian Foreign Minister to meet Italian counterpart on Monday

Bucharest. Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Cristian Diaconescu will meet on Monday his Italian counterpart Franco Frattini to talk about bilateral relations, the Romanian Mediafax informed.

The talks would focus on the business environment and the situation of the Romanians in Italy, ministry’s spokesperson Alin Serbanescu told Mediafax.
Diaconescu will have a meeting with Frattini after the CAGRE reunion (Conseil Affaires Générales Relations Extérieures).
Serbanescu said the minister has scheduled a press conference in Italy.

Diaconescu criticized last week the provocative attitudes of the members of the Italian Government, saying they might represent incitement to xenophobia.
Frattini showed surprise at the statements of the Romanian counterpart and said no member of the Italian Government ever used expressions which could be deemed xenophobic.
