Petar Zikulov should be considered innocent until passed sentence

Bucharest. Bulgarian Embassy was informed about the arrest of Bulgarian Petar Zikulov on February 28 in Romania. Romania pointed out that businessman Petar Zikulov had carried espionage in favor of a third country not Bulgaria, Bulgarian Ambassador to Romania Valentin Radomirski said in a statement. The statement which is published on the official website of the Embassy reads further: 

“In this case the Bulgarian Embassy took the necessary measures for normal consular assistance to a Bulgarian on Romanian territory.

I would like to stress that the accused Zikulov is not linked with certain Bulgarian institution and was in Romania in his private capacity.

We believe that Romanian authorities will consider the facts impartially and will pass a sentence. Until that happen according to all international norms he should be considered innocent”.
