Ministry of Interior’s workers in Bulgaria are too many

Varna. Ministry of Interior’s workers in Bulgaria are too many. This is what chairman of Internal Security and Public Oder Committee Mincho Spasov said at organized debate in the Bulgarian coastal town of Varna /east Bulgaria/, FOCUS Radio-Varna reporter informs.

He was asked whether 63 000 Ministry of Interior’s workers in Bulgaria are too many. Mincho Spasov pointed the number of Ministry of Interior’s workers in the country is three times more than in Czech Republic and two times more than in Romania.

He added 32 000 of these 63 000 are policemen. The rest 31 000 work in the administration.

Spasov said National Movement for Stability and Prosper /NMSP/ will keep to its position there must be 55% dismissals in the administration so to have 50% increase of the salaries.

As and a answer to the proposal Ministry of Interior’s structures to become town councils ones he said this does not have to happen. In his words it will hardy decrease the corruption because there is a corruption in the town councils also. Moreover national security is a national priority.
