Montenegrin envoy in Belgrade “soon”

PODGORICA

Montenegrin President Filip Vujanović says that his country will soon have its ambassador in Belgrade.Podgorica’s top diplomatic envoy to Serbia was expelled last year after Montenegro recognized Kosovo Albanians’ independence declaration.

“I think that there has been too much stress on commenting the absence of our ambassador in Belgrade, while the successful cooperation of the two close countries has not been evaluated enough. Often, and wrongly our relations have been appraised and looked at through the absence of an ambassador in the embassy in Belgrade,” he was quoted as saying.

Vujanović told Podgorica daily Pobjeda that he is glad there is intensive work to secure conditions for “this important job to be finished”.He also said his country will condition sending an ambassador to Priština by a recognition of the Montenegrin ethnic minority in Kosovo, and by the return of refugees.
