GEORGIA

The negotiations between the European Union (EU) and Georgia on visa facilitation and readmission are successful, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, David Jalaganiya said at a traditional meeting on Aug. 31.

He said during the third round of the talks, held last week in Brussels, the parties agreed texts for initialing in September.

“This, supposedly, coincides with the meeting of Georgia-EU Committee, which is scheduled for Sept. 23,” said Jalaganiya.

He explained that the simplified visa regime for the agreed text of the agreement provides that for a short-term visa for the Georgian citizens costs 90 and 120-day – a visa to the Schengen countries is €30 euros and not €60, as now
