EU requires Albania change its elections system

ALBANIA

Albania should take extra measures to stop the politicization of the elections process in the country, says a statement of the Swedish EU presidency, DPA reports.

The statement acknowledges that the Balkan country has registered serious progress in its elections system but local authorities should carefully study the final report of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) about the parliamentary elections in Albania held on June 28.

The Swedish EU presidency calls for all political parties in Albania to hold “constructive political dialog”.
