EC appealed to Kosovo not to block Kosovo’s regional initiatives

Kosovo is an independent country and Serbia should accept that, said spokesperson of Kosovo government Memli Krasnici, referring to the question whether over the practical benefits, which the regional co-operation brings, the official representatives of Belgrade and Pristina should stop insisting on forms and symbols at international level.

“We are not ready for whatever compromises on the way in which Kosovo has presented in the regional and international organizations to hide behind the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) so Serbia to be happy,” Krasnici pointed.

The European Commission has noted in the draft report on Serbia progress “the interested sides should search for pragmatic and practical decisions on regional co-operation without presenting different statements on Kosovo’s status.”

“Serbia should show more constructiveness over Kosovo’s participation in regional trade and co-operation,” is also noted in the draft report.
