Greece banned public protests during German FM visit

The Greek police have banned public protests in Athens on Thursday during a visit by German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble.

According to Wednesday’s police statement, a police cordon will be deployed around the city center between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time.

This will encompass the building of the Greek parliament and Syntagma Square – the two places where demonstrations against austerity measures are most often organized.
