Thirteen terrorists killed by Tunisian security forces

Thirteen members of the armed terrorist group holed up in Mount Touayer, Gbollat in Beja, have been killed so far.

Seven charred bodies were found during the search operations, bringing to thirteen the number of terrorists killed to date.

Other members of the same terrorist group were arrested while more others surrendered to the military forces.

A previous Defence Ministry toll put to nine the number of terrorist members killed in Mount Touayer.

Spokesman for the National Defence Ministry Colonel Major Taoufik Rahmouni reported the seizure near the house rented by terrorists of about two tons of raw materials for the manufacture of explosives, ammunition boxes and vision equipment.

Backed by commandos of the National Guard, army units cordoned off the area to tighten the noose on suspected individuals, he added.

“Two national army corporals and a lieutenant of the national guard commandos were injured. They received necessary care at the scene,” he indicated, adding that a sergeant shot in the shoulder was urgently taken to the military hospital in Tunis.

Two National Guard officers were shot dead by an armed terrorist group on Thursday and a third was seriously injured in Talla, near Gbollat. They were on patrol to check information about the presence of a group of persons who had rented a house in the area.
